Have been diagnosed by dentist with TMJ and am waiting for a custom mouth guard which will hopefully dull down pain. Was telling dentist im taking nurofen and solpedeine but they're not having a great effect but he wouldnt right me a prescription for anything stronger. Are there other painkillers out there that would be more effective? Thanks

I got good relief from wearing my mouth guard almost as soon as I started using it, so hopefully you will be the same. I found painkillers of limited use too tbh although I did end up on prescription stuff in the end. Have you tried applying heat to the area? I always found that gave me the best relief from the pain.
