Octavia BKC timeing belt and starting issue

I have a skoda octavia with a BKC engine, the last belt change was at 157K miles in Jan 2010 and inc the water pump.

The car now has 228K miles and i think the next change is due before 237K [80K or 4 years IIRC]
    Is this right ?

I also have a starting issue sometimes with it,its not just when its cold or when the weather is cold, sometimes it can be after the car is up to temp then parked and started again after 15-20 min.
I was thinking the battery is getting tired but the glow plugs were also suggested to me but i thought this would be more an issue when its cold ?

I had the same problem years ago and it was the camshaft sensor. Those belts should be changed every 60K miles.

Cam sensor can cause this issue, it will leave a pretty clear fault code if it is the culprit so don't change it unless you see a specific fault code for the cam sensor circuit.

There are a few other possibilities if the cam sensor is not the problem.

The belt change interval you have quoted is correct.
