Hi lads, I was thinking of making an sr25 and I want it as realistic as possible without going overboard. Basically one thing I want to do is lock it on semi but I was just wondering how. Thanks

Thing is with SR25 replicas is that after market receivers are hard to get, arrow dynamics make one but I doubt the quality would be great and it comes with safe/semi/auto unlike the top brand SR25 replicas like ares and G&G, then you have the gearbox which is longer than the standard V2 and reguires longer parts which are hardish to come by!. Then you have the 7.62 style mags which means you cannot use standard M4 magazines.

I would just buy a SR25 replica, the ares one is a seriously nice piece. Or maybe build a SR15 replica, which would be calibre below the SR25 in real steel terms, its essentially a M4 with a longer barrel and all that.

I think some programable mosfets can give you the safe/semi auto feature, but I'd imagine there would be a mechanical method also.

Thanks. I may just build an sr15 then because I really want to build it from scratch. Iv built guns before but only from big pieces ie. Full gearbox, front kit. I will have a look at the ares sr25 because I juat love 7.62 guns......another 7.62 I could get would be the vfc ssr......but thats a little pricey for ny standards. Thanks anyway

You can do a simple mod to the selector plate of the SR25 which will shoot auto semi only even when the selector is in the auto position

    Do you mean semi only?

Likewise, I wanted to build a 7.62 aeg based off of the SR25 but it was just too over complicated to build it from scratch. And I would want to be shot for taking apart a G&G GR25 or a ARES M110 (SR-25).

My brother has a VFC SCAR Heavy, beautiful gun, mags are always out of stock though he was lucky to get them at the time.

You should keep the auto and just not use it like I do. Cause if your out on the field and it locks up on semi at least you can free the gearbox with a full auto burst most times.
