Could anyone explain the extent of a Motion for Discovery eg does it search for recently closed bank accounts and if so how far back does it go?

Could either party simply close accounts and hold on to the cash?

Normally discovery proceeding in family law are done as part of case progression hearings in the circuit court before the county registrar,

Normally you are automatically required to vouch (i.e. provide statements) for bank accounts for a year (even if closed before trial), but an application can be made for vouching to go back further.

The county registrar can order discover of documents in any event and can order a third party to discover documents.
