Black/Grey listed after IP change

    We changed our DSL supplier recently and with the change came a new static Ip address.
    Since then some of our users have been unable to send emails to some of their contacts. They are getting immediate bounce backs with permanent delivery failure messages.
    It seems to be certain domains that are refusing our mails.
    Most seem to give the message that we have been greylisted.

    Any ideas what we could do to resolve this??

    Have to updated your DNS to make sure your mx records are correct? Sometimes when you send a mail, the recieving server will do a reverse DNS lookup to try and cut down spam.
    If the mx records are not correct, you may have problems like the symtom you describe.

    Along with what kaisersoze says, check http://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx for your ip address. If it is listed, get in touch with your DSL provider, they should help with delisting.

    Also,but not lastly,make sure that you send email via your DSL supplier's SMTP server (new, not old provider) rather than sending emails directly to recipient's email / MX record server.

    If you have your own mail server on the static IP then make sure that the IP has both an A record and a PTR record.
    The MX record isn't really relevant for sending tbh
    Also check that your domain's SPF records are up to date

    The greylisting isn't a real issue, but the "failures" obviously are.
