How much is a human life worth in monetary terms

Sad clinical way to look at it sure but how much would you say a human life is worth in euros.
I've seen payouts for medical negligence resulting in death of over a million.
There's a formula to estimate future earning potential lost plus some extra arbitrary amount.

Put a figure on it, as best you can.

I read something a few years back that for each life thats lost early it is a net loss to the state of about 1m EUR (i think the article was in relation to road deaths)


Can stand over that figure though...cant see how its calculated either.

Depends if those children were going to grow up being burdens to the state or contributors.
I'm sure there are other considerations too like the incarceration costs of the murdering paedophile & peoples feelings but I'm sure these can be overlooked.
