All kicking off for the Bombers over the last 24 hours with the news that they've asked the AFL to investigate the use of off site treatments for players.

Supposedly the club only became aware that there might be an issue a few days ago, something I don't buy.

Now it seems that the 'sports scientist' they were using isn't even accredited in Australia!

There's some talk of the AFL booting them out of the comp this season though the more likely scenario is they'll get a few fines or similar nothing sanctions like Adelaide.

Yeah, it looks dogy as hell. I think the fact that the anti doping body is involved now will prevent the AFL slapping the scum with a wet lettuce.

In the absence of a professional alignment, he cannot be disciplined or de-registered by ESSA

Sounds like there is nothing that will be done. It seems a bit odd that because he isn't accredited, they can do nothing. Doesn't really make sense. If he was practicing then he should be liable. Could this become a criminal investigation?

To be honest, the letter comes across more of a marketing campaign to become a Sports Scientist and the membership included rather than a beneficial investigation into player doping.

Although it might explain the luck Essendon have had with uniformly 'emerging' Frankston players :P
