Combined feed and expansion.. possible

This seems to be the simplest solution the pitching issue I have.

Currently with the pump set to 2 and all rads on the system does not pitch, if I close more than one rad or set the speed on the pump to 3 it will suck water from the tank and pump over.

Previously it pitched constantly, raising the vent as high as I had room to and dropping the water level in the tank to 10cm above the feed solved this.

Combining them seems like a simple fix, T the feed into the 22mm vent just below tank level. My problem is... I have two vents. The boiler piping comes into the house and then splits into two loops. One loop feeds the rads and cylinder, the other feeds the cylinder on its own. Both of these loops have a vent up over the expansion tank.

So is it possible to have a combined setup...

Do you have a back boiler also?

Originally yes... which afaik is the reason for the second loop? The back boiler has since been disconnected. As is... the rad/cylinder loop only heats the rads as the cyclinder valve is closed and the dedicated loop heats the cylinder.

Ok. It sounds like the system was originally set up for solid fuel, then removed & the other circuit became the primary. The solid fuel vent is not required now so that can be removed & blanked. The f & e is probably set up on the solid fuel side, so this would be better moved to the other circuit & positioned accordingly In relation to the circulation pump, i.e. negative side.
I would also eliminate the access to the 1" coil side of the cylinder. No valve, no balance so grabbing a lot of the heat & flow circuit.
Another consideration is to now pressurise the system.

    Cheers.

The feed comes down into the hot press and splits, it goes into both loops. So now that the oil boiler is the only heat source the system is okay with a single feed and a single vent pipe.

Ideally I would like put the feed on the correct side of the pump but location wise (pump is outside with the boiler) this isn't really an option.

Is pump on the flow or return pipe at the boiler?

It is on the return and pumps towards the boiler.

It should be just a matter of eliminating the old solid fuel side, remove that feed & the vent.

Cheers, thanks for the advice. Busy weekend ahead when I feel like facing it.
