    Hey,

I'm looking to buy a toolkit for bike servicing. I've been doing bits and pieces with the tools I have in the shed.
However if I'm looking to service BB's Wheel hubs and cassete removal what would I need?

I'm running all campagnolo, hubs as well and was wondering is there special campagnolo toolkit or will any generic toolkit contain kit I can use for removing BBs and Hubs or is it mostly shimano specific tools in generic kits as this is a more popular brand?

I'd like to get a kit that I can use for all servicing the bike at a reasonable price. Any ideas?

Campag (for 10 speed at least) thoughfully ensured that their square taper BB and cassette tool is one and the same. A Park Tools one is less than €15 from CSS etc. Hubs....? dunno........I'll leave that one to the LBS for now.

Ahh cool so A chain whip and one of these tools would do it for a toolkit perhaps then. Have most of the others in normal tool kits.

Have a look at www.parktool.com, it'll identify what (Park) tools you need for a variety of tasks. Then purchase the equivalent tool from whichever brand you like. Choice of brand is largely a personal thing but first time round it's often based on what you are willing to spend.

Personally I like Park Tool, Campagnolo, Shimano, Pedros (and some others which I can't remember offhand) as brands, I dislike BBB, Tacx, and any number of others that I bought as I hoped they'd prove to be good value for money but weren't. That's by no means definitive though, other peoples' experiences and views of those same brands almost certainly differ.
