    Hi Folks

I know stuff like this has been posted before but really need a bit of help on this one.
We are getting married in September and having trouble finding a band. We are looking for a good covers band that do weddings (doesnt have to be a wedding band). We would prefer if they werent your run of the mill wedding band as we find them a bit cheesy. Songs from 80's, 90's & 00's would be great with the odd old track throw in.

These are some of the bands we have been contacting:
    The Goods
    j90
    Big Generator
    Bluemoose
    The Poorboys
    Converse Allstars

Would really appreciate if anyone has any recommendations or any bands themselves can PM me.

    Cheers

    Gafferino

Check out the moog 69s, they have a show case this week you can check them out at. Very good band. http://www.themoog69s.ie/

Or also the Harleys are a great band.

Dejaboo are supposed to be quiet good too, I have also head Bluemoose a few times and think they are great.

Class acts, all top class musicians and are not your typical wedding band but I've seen them at a couple of weddings and they rocked

just to reiterate what I said above, always check exact date and a location of the venue with a band before going to view. will save you a wasted journey on viewing dates. I know 2 of the bands mentioned above dont have a thurs-fri-sat available in september

    Hey Clint_silver,

I'm looking for a band on the 24th of May in Galway. Know of any of that are available?

    Thanks!

In short, no. The wedding season really goes from may-sept and weekends tend to go the year before for the more popular bands but I do think you'll get someone for that Friday with a bit of groundwork.

At this point I'd start mailing all the bands listed above then go through the band sticky (60 or so bands listed) or go to weddingsonline, they have something like 100 or so bands advertised there. Mail them all in a blind cc and ask firstly if available and price and then you can start looking for recommendations for available bands.
