I got my new upgrade from emobile today Motorola Razr I and its very nice indeed, so so fast, feels just as quick as any S3 ive played around with, really nice phone that jelly bean will top off nicely.
I liked my HTC Radar WP but i missed Android a lot especially the twitch tv app ,enjoying it on my nexus 7 making me miss it even more.
I understand Western Europe has started to get Jelly Bean the last few days, anyone know of an arrival date for Ireland?
    Anymore Razr I users around?

I've got one! Jellybean is being rolled out by the the carriers across Europe, the razrs sold in Ireland aren't running carrier firmware though, and the retail jellybean firmware that they're running has yet to be released. Motorola say it will be less than a week.

The phone is great, frankly the only option out there if you want high end specs, great build quality in a resonable sized, non giant, device.

Yup, I've had one for a few months and find it quite nice. I like that it's got very little brand-bloat on it and it's almost "pure" Android. The form factor is good, the weight is good and it's quite zippy and responsive. For the price, I'm pretty happy.

Yeah swapped back to using mine yesterday.. Had the issues with Sure Signal's fixed, so much happier with the unit as I can now connect at home.

Trying to decide if I will buy a nice case for it, don't want to make it much bigger but don't want to damage it as I seem to drop them often enough :)

Very nice phone with great performance, battery and screen probably the best bang per buck out there.

I am sort of between those two myself. Xperia hands down has one of the best cameras in the market. I sow 1080p recording samples and those looked fantastic. I heard some horrible reports on battery life, but that is sort of expected as it has very good screen.
This RAZR I is a lovely surprise. Looks like a very well packet device without silly this generation mobile phone tag.
I personally want a good can,era in my phone so I steer towards xperia t, but I guess you won't go wrong with both choices

I got mine on expansys in november, it seems to be running a retail version.

did a system update check yesterday, and it gave me an update...but it seems to still be ics.

    running 81.5.39001.xt890.retail.en.gb
    android version 4.0.4

I spoke to motorola live chat yesterday about the jellybean update , all they could say we should get it very very soon.
The more i use the phone the more i like it,the screen is superb and performance is fantastic, the battery is easily the best ive ever used.

Battery..I'm still not so sure on (though a big step up from the iPhone 3GS I was lumbered with prior to this) but as for the actual phone, interface and speed: I really like it. Can't wait to see how she works with JB.

Battery is one of my favourite parts of the phone :) (in fairness though, I have little or no interest in playing games etc on the phone, so I dont need as much daily battery)

Went away for 2 days and came back with the battery still on 50%.. which is amazing.. Never had a modern phone that lasts anywhere near that amount.
iPhone 5, Galaxy etc. all really need to be charged daily.

i've just bought one of these last weekend and find it vastly superior to the iphone 3gs i had previously.
can anybody tell me what difference jellybean will actually make to the phone when it's realesed?

... except for the Galaxy Note 2 which has a savage battery. Price might be a factor, however Note 2 is said to be enjoying a price reduction due to the forthcoming Note 3.

Sony xperia T has lousy battery life. You'll be plugging it in constantly.

Anyone suggest a decent cover for my razr i?
Seems most suppliers on amazon dont ship to Ireland,i checked out expansys.ie but they only have pouches and flip over ones which i dont like.

I bought a good case on eBay, nice rubber grip on the side and partly on the back with some glossy black material for design, much easier to keep it from slipping out of the hand ^^

Hmm, thinking about this one now instead of the S3 mini - can anyone confirm if the battery is removable or not, I have seen conflicting reports online.

I usually have to throw a replacement battery into my current galaxy s on a normal day's surfing and whilst I know that the motorola is a huge step up (not least because I reckon my 3 year old batteries are on the way out) I'm not sure that I could survive without some sort of a top up.

    Not without disassembly (screws etc)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57 ✭✭RaZzZz

My sister has the S3 Mini, the RAZR i definitely defeats it in every category, and it's cheaper ;)

Sorry for dragging this thread up but I'm considering picking up a razri. Did any of you lads have any problems with apps? I've read a few reviews and they say because of the intel processor there may be problems with some apps

Have used over 30 different apps so far, did not notice any problems whatsoever... I did read comments about the same issue. I believe it must be connected with some heavy games for smartphones which would never will be downloaded on my phone.
The Razri is an excellent phone. I definitely recommend you to buy. I think it's available only brand new unlocked for 3-400 euro or perhaps second hand cheaper.

Haven't had any problems with apps...just installed rte player, seems fine

I have dozens of apps running with no problem on mine - the only problem app that won't run is myhome.ie... But from reading reviews in the play store, it sounds ****e on ARM platforms as well, so nothing attributable to the intel processor

So, did any of ye buy one of these from Three UK ?

If so, was it locked when you got it ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,404 ✭✭✭peposhi

I highly doubt any company would sell an unlocked to all other providers phone...
