Are there any beds in UCD?

Obviously not talking about any of the residents areas.

During the day and when I have a gap between lectures, it would be nice to have somewhere were I can lay my head for a nap.

Anybody know of anything like this?

Perhaps we could petition the students union to introduce dorm areas.

    Think about it.

Let face the reality of being a student. You go out during the week, you're going to be tired the next day. We should have some bed areas were we can refresh ourselves so we can concentrate better during lectures.

Yep, there's loads of beds in the basement of the Newman building. Few baths too, you know, just in case you fancy a nice bath before your next lecture.

Best place for a nap is underneath the lecturers desk. They never notice.

Unfortunately it's pretty likely that if they DID put beds in a university, they wouldn't just get used for rest and relaxation...! :p

You could always go for a nap in the cinema!!

I'm sure there's been a fair share of hand shandy's doled out in there since its opening too!

You can pay the Belfield Bum to carry you around in his arms while you nap.

I used to LOVE nipping back to residences for a nap between lectures. Those are the best sleeps ever.

I was talking about taking a nap, which is what this whole thread is about.

    You are so presumptuous

I'm in the Quinn building right now, and I'm so sleepy.

I need a bed, or a shoulder, if you have one.

Best places for a nap in UCD

-The dummy clinical exam rooms in Health Sciences. Yes, complete with hospital beds (and not used by real patients)
-The audio visual/ video room in the veterinary library. You can book the room for up to an hour, lock yourself in, put your head on the table and snooze away.
-Befriend a campus resident and head back to theirs for a power nap.

Pretty much every building seems to have a sofa in it too, if you look hard enough. Engineering sofas are fairly comfy; best avoided during lunch time if you're a snorer.

Interesting places to sleep in UCD.

    The Mausoleum.
Janitor's cupboard within the underground tunnels.
Sofas on the fifth floor of the James Joyce library.
The new sewage treatment plant (the new one doesn't smell inside. Much)
    Camping near the secret lakes
    Top floor in admin
The special collection in the library (helped by the presence of pillows).
    Old dramsoc theatre?
The Clinton Auditorium in the Global Irish Institute

OP what do you want? Discretely at the back of a JHN lecture theatre, a library cubicle, or one of the larger seats in the library su shop area is what has had to do people, since ever, for a kip!

Even though this might become a bit of a comedy thread, I think we can all agree fatigue during the day is a problem students face.

I have often seen people putting their heads down during lectures because they are so tired, most likely from being out the night before.

I know people think this is funny, but again lets deal in the reality of whats actually happening.

I was hoping some experienced and seasoned students who have dealt with this problem would reply.
