Building a bass, and new double bass pedal

    Okay, so I'm looking for 2 things:
    1) I really wanna build a bass, but they're really damn expensive. I've been thinking, maybe get one of those kit off of Thomann for 85 quid. Anyone have ay experience with them? Would I need some better pickups? Cause everything else gets really expensive

    2) A double bass pedal. Nothing too fancy, but preferably one that I can use Heel-toe on (size 9 shoes, if that's any help)

    Can anyone help?
