There is a new series starting on the National Geographic Channel on Thursday 7th Feb. at 8pm.
The programme is called Car SOS and features Tim Shaw and drummer Fuzz Townsend who is a regular feature writer on Practical Classics magazine.

    Could be worth a look.

Should be a hundred times better than the tripe Channel 5 broadcast last year. And Fuzz runs his own classic car restoration business so he knows what he's at.

Apparently each restoration takes place over a 3 week period and is then compressed into a forty minute show including ads.
They must have a fair team on hand to meet a 3 week turnaround.

I have a few lying around here that I would gladly let them loose at.

You might be right. My TV Guide app told me the Cossie episode was on Thursday.

Have just set the digibox for the Spider!

Fingers crossed it will be good

That guy Fuzz as mentioned allready owns a classic car restoration company. He has also been a staff member on both Classics Monthly and Practical Classics.

The other bloke was a presenter for one season of 5th gear, a bit unremarkable but not rubbish either.

The less said about that Channel 5 show the better

3 week turn around !! gonna need a lot of bodies on that !!

Reminds me of another show from a few years back, 'Dream Machine' with Mark Evans (from the .... is born series). They would do relaitvely quick restos on classics with a big team of people - good show !!

Looking forward to this, especially the beetle episode. There are some pics on the Nat Geo site but they kind of spoil it. :)

Why ?? Who would you prefer to host the show ? Is it not enough to have a show on TV that promotes and displays the use of classic cars. Do the entertainers have to have some 'special credentials' that will make them likable. It's entertainment, pure and simple.
I've not watched every episode, just dipped in now and again, Brewer gets a car, gives it to China, and then sells it, nothing idiotic about that.
Ed China in my humble opinion is a very informative and competent mechanic. His skills are varied, and the episode where he pulls the rear wing on the Ferrari, then leads it is far from a 'bodge'. A bodge would be filling the space with chicken wire, newspaper and 'plop'.

Yeah I am liking it, jeez, were they mad to be restoring a sixties Fiat?:p

Yep . a good little programme. Something interesting to look in on for a few weeks.
The little Fiat is a lovely little car. Never saw one in the flesh so to speak.

They are a dead ringer for the Alfa Spider.

Car SOS was a good show alright. Must say I am also a fan of Brewer and Ed C - another well managed production.

Ed must have an amazingly cheap hourly rate also, based upon the prices that Brewer goes for

Good show, it's a pity it wasn't longer. A 1 hour segment would be nice.

Was gutted to see it wasn't a 124 Spider :( Always thought the 850 looked like Noddy's car.

Have it on the box though, and will watch it when I'm over the disappointment!
