    Try Skyscanner :)

I can see a few with connections for under €200 return (assuming you're just flying for the match and not planning to do too much sightseeing), but the flight times are a bit rancid.

    DUB-CRL 06:40 15/3
    CRL-CIA 15:35 15/3

    CIA-HHN 09:15 17/3
    HHN-DUB 15:00 17/3

totals off at just over €180.

would not recommend buying connections on separate tickets - too much potential for missed flights etc

how about flying into Milan and taking the train?

    thanks all

Milan looks to be the best option, ryanair have cheap flights from milan to rome also for anyone else looking.

Try this website, it's the official one for sales

    https://biglietteria.listicket.it/utenti/registrazione.php?lang=IT

you have to register first to even try to see if tickets are available it seems, there's also a call centre

Otherwise foreigners living abroad, can purchase tickets through the LISticket Call Center, this is the phone number for international calls +39 02 600 60 900 or through www.listicket.it. The tickets, purchased and paid with credit card, can be collected at the stadium on the day before the match (h.10 am -6 pm) and on the day of the match (from 9.30 am). ID required at the box office upon collection.

Have looked at Lufthansa, going DUB-Frankfurt-Rome for two people.

Out 15th back 17th 2 people, best price is 241 return, now thats the best you will get and avoids risk in doing connections with FR as Lufthansa honnor connections.

    DUB-Frankfurt-Rome
    15 Mar
    05.35-14.00 - extra €20 on top op 241
    17.35-23.15 - included in price

    17 Mar
    Rome-Frankfurt-DUB
    05.55-11.45 - included in price
    18.55-23.00 - included in price

jaysus did you not notice how long you'd be spending going via Frankfurt? Basically all day Friday and all day Sunday! What would be the point in that?

45 minutes connection if you take the Friday evening flight. Using the morning flights will cost either 20 or 40 extra depending on how much time you are willing to wait in FRA.
60 minutes connection on Sunday evening.

If you think those are long then clearly you haven't done connections before. You will have to go out of the airport and back in again with FR and make sure you are at the gate 30 minutes before the flights so add another 40 minutes between flights and thats longer.

These are two different end to end options, not two different flights -
    17 Mar
    Rome-Frankfurt-DUB
    05.55-11.45 - included in price
    18.55-23.00 - included in price

So, you leave Rome 1855, get into Dublin 2300. Not leave Rome 0555, arrive Dublin 2300.

I looked at some routings with Swiss through Zurich which were good enough value (to Zurich), but onwards connections were tricky. Train was an option, but the train fare was pretty steep

Sorry yes I read the flights incorrectly, thought that each journey was actually each leg!

When I connected via Frankfurt last summer it was a huge rush not helped by little or no Lufthansa crew help and the incredibly slow passport control police, whilst I did make my flight we were very close to not being allowed take off due to their curfew for flights. The flight from Berlin had been delayed by some gob****es with a wedding dress!
