So, Just took the new Renault Twizy for a spin there.

Well what can i say. Mad as a march hare.....

Youll need a coat. Its more like driving and electric go cart with an upright driving position. Doesnt appear to have any low end torque but it may have been an illusion as it was keeping up with other vehicle off the lights.

No windows on the model i drove. Which means open to the air.

Definitely get more looks from driving this for 5 minutes than any luxury car ive been in. People were stopping in mid traffic and beeping and flashing. If you are any way into people staring at you. its one for you.

Now im back in 2013 again felt like i was in 2020 :)

Would have thought such a light electric car would have been all low end torque. Must be electronically smoothed out to stop a kinda "bumper car" kinda feel.

I like em, great idea for sunny cities. Or Google employees whizzing round campus kinda buzz. Not so much for following a herd of cattle down a boreen. You'd want overalls and a mask I'd say...

edit - They were available to rent in Barcelona last summer, wish I'd had the time/bobs to have a lash.

Actually that makes sense now, It was completely void of the bumper car feel so its got smooth acceleration feel to it.

Over at the Valencia F1 last year, the police had a handful of them parked around. I fell in love with them a little!!! :)

I want one, but it'd be impractical driving to Balbriggan in it. Brrrr.

Wait, €50 a month for battery rental, and thats for up to 7500km per year? Feck that, €50 is nearly 2 weeks of petrol for me.

Thought this was going to be another Mad_Lad thread.

First time I saw one of them was in southern France last summer, being used as an ad-mobile for an estate agents. Grand in 30-degree sunshine tound a city, not so sure about an Irish February though
