I am looking to send money to a friend in the UK.

I could just exchange it commission free at the post office and bring the cash over and lodge it to HSBC but I wont have time to do it that way.

I know I can transfer fund electronically via bank to bank but I will get hit with the commission charge that way. Is there a way to transfer the euro to pound sterling commission free?

(I'm not a student or anything like that)

    Commission free no.
better rate than the bank yes.
Use the search function, its been asked many times.

I used currencyfair.ie when I was working in the north.

Could you send him a bank draft?

    Cash by registered post???

Do not, by any means, send cash by post (registered or not!)

    Why not?

Its a safe enough system, especially to UK.
