Has anyone a good recommendation for a doctor in or around Loughrea?

Thankfully, I haven't been near a doctor in a while, but can vouch for here.

I went to a doctor on Barack street over the Christmas in emergency with a throat infection, had never been there before, went to a doc called Gallagher thought he was excellent

Yeh, both Dr Gleeson and Dr Kemple are nice, I would go for Dr Gleeson if poss (both female), my grumpy, difficult to please octagenarian uncle sees Dr Nugent and quite likes him, high praise indeed!
