I was listening to the radio the other day and someone mentioned that back in the day when we were all swinging from tree to tree, that the way they figured out whether something was safe to eat or not was whether it was sweet or bitter,
Seemingly, in the natural world very little stuff that tastes sweet is toxic or poisonous whereas if it's bitter or sour it has a higher chance of being poisonous so they avoided it and I thought to myself, well now, that's interesting

So AH, what have you ever heard that made you think, well now that's interesting I'd have never thunk it?

If I only ate stuff that tastes good I'd be dead years ago.

I was living in Dublin for three years seemingly oblivious to the fact all the D- numbers were split up into odd/even numbers, with evens in the south, odds on the north side.

A real face palm moment when that one was pointed out to me.

43.7% of all statistics are made up right on the spot.

    Dublin 8.

Is this a random Dublin number game?

    D8 is Southside.

Haha, I had a similar moment when I realised why ArTHURS Day was always on on Thursdays... I'd been patiently waiting for it to land on the weekend for years.....

Obligutary interesting fact taken from QI

It is a common held myth that you shouldn't drink if you are on antibiotics. The myth stems back to when antibiotics where invented, in the Victorian Era, the first disease to be treated with antibiotics was syphilis, a sexually transmittable disease. Doctors noticed that people usually were more sexually promiscuous when they drank. Seeing as for the first week of treatment you're still contagious, they started telling their patients not to drink, so as not to have sex, so as not to transmit the disease.

That said, there are a few antibiotics that should not be mixed with alcohol, not because they'll be less effective, but because it'll make you feel very ill and vomit, but the myth that antibiotics won't work with alcohol is simply not true

81% of left handed adult males know that to be completely false

There's a movement that lives by the principals of the above and eat only fruit, tender greens and gets their fats from Avocado and Coconuts. Not sure what they call themselves, but they have an annual retreat called the Woodstock Fruit Festival every year. When I first heard of it, it sound like a cult but then on one of their videos they showed a 68 year old guy walking down a road doing a handstand and I thought, now that's interesting.
