Hi guys, My ESS started limping on the back leg after a walk this morning, he was on the lead, it was an easy walk, he hasnt anything in the paw, & he is letting me handle his leg, hip and isnt wincing, any ideas before I head to the vet, its my first dog and any advise would be helpful.

BRING him to the vet. I'm nearly in the same boat as you. Went to vet, found nothing but got anti inflamatries, dog did not improve. He got worse much worse 12 hours of finishing anti inflams his paw swelled up and a laceration became obvious. Back to vet and he is now on a huge dose of antibiotics hoping the infection doesn't get into the bone.

If you are worried, the vet. Try giving his paw a wee squeeze, Springers have big furry pads examine thoroughly for a thorn or cut. You'll know by his demeanor if it is something serious.
