2013 Ford Fiesta P'shift - has it got Selectshift?

Can anybody confirm does the new 2013 Ford Fiesta 1.6 Powershift have the Selectshift feature (plus/minus buttons on gearstick) like the Focus does?

The brochure on ford.ie has option in brackets on the page (16/17) about this transmission, while the UK version does not.

I have not seen them on the fiesta yet. I'll check today for sure.

Thanks. I believe the model just replaced did not have selectshift. I had a good read of the online brochure. It's not mentioned anywhere as an option that you can add for more money, say like a higher spec radio for example. As I said before it just says option in brackets on page 18/19. UK brochure doesn't mention option. (page 10/39).

The picture in both Irish and UK brochures show the gearstick with the selectshift buttons.

There is no mention of selectshift as an option on the dealer price file, or ordering guide. Nothing about it in the Fiesta Pre-Sell brochure from last year either.

Was the old Fiesta Powershift, or a standard Auto? Don't have any price files / order guides for the old model, but I'm pretty sure all Powershifts I've driven have the sequential shift option.

I think the older model was a standard auto. Maybe with the new model the select shift feature is assumed to be a standard feature with the powershift. The new e-brochure has been up on the ford.ie website since late last week.

    Ok now with an update.
The new Fiesta comes with a manual, automatic and power shift gearboxes.
The select shift is not on the power shift gearbox but stupidly is on the automatic transmission.
Its only on the Mondao and Focus with the power shift gearbox.

Thanks Plug. Bit confused now though. Isn't Powershift the automatic system thats used in the Fords?

Lifted this from the 2013 Fiesta pricelist. Powershift option in bold.

Have a look at ford.co.uk . Downlaod the new Fiesta brochure and go to page 10. It mentions a push button "manual mode" on the powershift box.

A powershift box is a whole new gearbox that drives just like an auto(more or less) but with better efficiency possible better than a manual. Its from a mechanical aspect its completely different to a normal auto box. Maybe Ireland only has a manual and Powershift option. Some other country's must also have a conventional autobox as an option too.

@Henry Ford, maybe its new for 2013 so. I haven't seen them yet though.

The configurator (I know I know) only shows manual plus 6 speed powershift mated to a 105bhp 1.6 petrol engine only.

It's an expensive option, and propels the car into higher VRT and Tax Bands so I don't imagine it'd be too popular.

Good thing they will have the N/A version of that new 3 cylinder engine mated to a 5 speed manual. Keeps everyone happy:o

You can't even get the 120bhp 1.0T version here in a Fiesta. It's nuts.

Yes. Poor range of engines here compared to the UK. Anyway I can confirm that the 2013 Fiesta 1.6 powershift does indeed have selectshift. Theres a plus/minus button on the gearstick. The local Ford dealer had one in the showroom.
