    Hi

There was a guy ( Mr Skeffington ) a couple of years back getting great reviews on bicycle repairs on here, he was going abroad, does any one know if he is still away or is he back and doing repairs.
Failing that, any suggestions on who to leave my Felt road bike with to get the gears repaired. I'd like some one who knows what their doing not thinks they know and don't want to be ripped off either.

    Regards Dubflier

I don't know where Skeff is these days, but Holyboy who runs "Bee Cycles" out in Dolphin's Barn always does an outstanding job for a fair price.

Although he still posts on here occasionally I believe Mr Skeffington has moved and no longer does bike repairs

Darkglasses has already metioned one boardsie who has gained a good reputation around these parts for his bike shop and repair skills, and we have a sticky dedicated to bike mechanics in the Cycling Adverts sub-forum

Skeff is an absolute gent but has moved away from doing as much work here as he used to.

I met him before Christmas and he is in great form and a mine of information and help as always.

It depends on where you are located but there are 3 great guys that I use...

Wayne in Cycleplus in Greystones is excellent. Great job at the fairest price you will get.

The guys up in Fitzcycles in Stillorgan are great, particularly if you run Campy, they will source the more obscure parts.

The final guy is up in the Cycle Superstore in Tallaght.. Can't remember his name but he is Irish and always wears a Park Tools bib!!

    Thanks lads

I'm in the Clondalkin area so most of the mentioned shops are not a problem to get to, except the one down in Graystones is abit out of the way for me. Last outing on the trusty steed the chain dumped out over the big ring and the front de-ralliure may be bent. The other issue is going from the 8th rear cog to the 10th on one click of the lever. I had a fiddle around with them myself after looking at the Shimano site for instructions on how to set up the front and rear de-railliur. How ever I think I will just let some one who knows what there looking at sort it out. It's 105 front and back.

    Regards Dubflier
