Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    All,

Ive noticed over the last few days watching matches that the picture on RTE2 HD on SKY HD breaks up with pixeling and shuddering sound on new SKY HS receiver.

There was mention of this over in the Rugby forum.

Its still at it today watching the france / italy match...

Yes, I'm experiencing this too. Same yesterday during the WAL v IRL game. Not a major problem but it gives a shudder/pixelates every couple of mins then returns to normal and repeats again a few minutes later. I'm on Sky with a HD box watching on RTE2 HD. No problems noticed on any other channels.

Exact same setup here....And the same problem..

Switched over to the SD,,and no problems.

Very disappointing from the HD point of view.

I'm watching on BBC HD, there's a noticeable difference in picture quality when compared to RTE HD

Good to see Im not alone.

This is actually an issue (for me anyway) for the last week.

Watched recording of Greys Anatomy and Revenge and a few more from RTE 2HD on Sky and it was the same issue on them....

Oddly the same thing happening on UPC during Wales v Ireland for me at least, which suggests that something is up with the feed being supplied to both UPC and Sky.

Yes, Father Ted was bad last night - ruined a great episode.

I'm pretty relieved to hear all this. Thought I was going to have to have a fight with Sky to get some issue with my dish resolved.

RTE NL have advised that their engineers are investigating the issue.

That seems unlikely, they have nothing to do with Sky or UPC!

RTE produce the channel - as its happening on both Sky and UPC its clearly an issue on the RTE side.

Well, they acknowledged the problem and informed me it was being investigated.

Maybe they have responsibility for the feed to the other providers?

I'd imagine they just passed it on, they only look after Saorview.

I have been getting this on RTE2 HD for the last few days. I am going to mail Sky and see what happens.

This evening, Greys Anatomy was perfectly fine - but Revenge (on directly afterwards) was jittering regularly. Weird.

Maybe one of their playout servers has a problem?

ARQIVA have digital multiplexing equipment to output DVB-T and BSkyB have digital multiplexing equipment to output DVB-S1 at the RTÉ Donnybrook
    Campus.

RTE also run the various multiplexing arrangements for satellite vans, studio feeds, EBU feeds, internet players etc.

It seems to be an issue before Satellite broadcast anyway, as if it was an issue with that end it should effect all channels on the Sky satellite multiplex so RTE1 via Sky etc. , so we can probably rule out weak signal on users dishes.

Eh, no, RTÉ NL uplink the signal (including TV3 & TG4) from Donnybrook direct to the satellite, Sky just manage the EPG and encryption (the satellite is not even owned by Sky but Astra).
