    hi,

I have lost the key to my mondeo diesel 1.8. I have the window down but the doors will not unlock even though I pull the door handle on the inside of the car. I locked the doors with the remote key, which I have lost.

Anyone know how to get around this? Where is the crash sensor on these?

    Tks a lot

    John

Sounds like they're deadlocked. Have you any key at all? Have you tried the keyhole?

Does the deadlock not disengage when the key is turned in the ignition?

There is surely a keyhole in one of the doors

there is a way to break in to the car but I don't really want to post it on open forum. I paid €90 for a locksmith to come and do it to my old Merc when I had the same issue. Watched how he did it and went and bought the gear from Homebase for about €15 in case it happened again! It did and I'm now fairly handy... pm if you want a description

tks folks for the quick replies,

no I have no key at the moment. I am removing the steering lock and bypassing the immobiliser. But the damm doors remain locked. I have the window down and thats how I get in an out at the moment.

no key mugs, just hotwiring at the mo. The deadlocks do not disengage. Hence my idea of touching the contacts on the crash sensor. In theory that should override all else and open the doors. Prob is, it may well set off the airbag too.
