Is there something like this? Sliding rail for light socket.

I have a light socket that is about 3 inches in diameter (round). It will be mounted vertically on some sort of rail that can be slid up and down easily and that has a parking brake (so to speak).

Is there anything available like this?

they are not a standard fitting to be honest, sometimes the wires shown above are bars etc and that are low voltage 12V, I think you'd have to have the manufacturer's name to use what you have or get spares , sounds like you want low voltage catenary lights, either on bars or wire ropes
