    Hi ,

Recently ordered a microfilm from LDS which has since arrived to
DUblin City Libtary and which I've viewed and printed out photocopies.

Does anyone know is it possible to get the particular document on teh microfilm didgitised..? Basically I'll be uploading to family tree maker etc and down teh line getting a book done , so Ideally would like a digital copy for the aesthetics ...

Will try using a camera and see what results I get ..
Anyone have any experiences ...or other possibilities like transferring the microfilm to anothe library that has the facility...

    cheers

sort of a roundabout approach - but it this is an RC Parish film, then you could do a printout of the page/record from the relevant film in the NLI and scan that ?

    Hi Shane,
It's a marriage cert from Argentina which I printed and then scanned see attached ... however would prefer if I could scan it digitally straight from the film ......

the marraige cert is exactly like the matching baptismal cert

no idea sorry - since it's an LDS film it might be best to check with them.

Most printing from microfilm would involve a digitize/scan somewhere along the line. Unfortunately with the setup in the NLI you cant get at the image file due to policy setting on the PC, but maybe you could in the Dublin City Library ?

The LDS Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, has a photo duplication service that has either a small charge, or is free, depending on your how you receive the copies you want.

I think this covers what you want. See here.
