Make and Model: Sony VGN-FW11E, PCG-3B1M

    Is it in warranty?
Doubt it. Bought it in 2008 think.

    Location:
    Lisburn NI

Just wondering if anyone got any idea much this may cost to repair, or who would contact? Is a Sony store in town here who may try next week if get the chance. No doubt it will have to be sent away though. Thoughts/recommendations?? :D

The connector seemed to be always loose but today its seems to have more or less broken off and the wire, although still connected is visable. Still charges etc but am worried that it may eventually stop working or get damaged more. From what I've seen on google lookin like £100-£150 for repairing it :(

    hi
i would check and see if sony are willing to fix this as it was a problen on these fw models, i have the same model as that and the power jack was loose since i bought it.
i used superglue which worked. but it is a hinge so im not recommending that

i was talking to someone recently about these and i was told that sony had been repairing them.

so contact sony and say its been loose since you bought it ?

great laptop despite this design flaw
