I got an Xperia P before Christmas from amazon.de
    long story, Wi-fi wouldn't work.
I returned it, got a full refund. Thank you amazon.

Now I don't now what phone to go for.

Give me some first-hand recommendations, and why you would recommend the phone.
    Cheers

Bad time to buy a phone but Nexus 4 is the current top.

or wait for MWC this month for all the new phones.

Cortex A15 coming soon as well.

+1 for Nexus 4 - If you're lucky enough to be able to purchase direct from Google do it that way

Otherwise there's a few on Done Deal and Adverts.ie

I sort of impulse bought the Motorola Razr i a few weeks ago and have been really happy with it. I seriously considering the Nexus 4 for the software experience but glad I didn't. For me, it beats the Nexus in two really important areas: design ergonomics and battery life. Heard too many reports of poor battery life on Nexus, razr i gets a day and a half of moderate use which is more than I've ever had from a smartphone. About twice that of my Galaxy S2. It also manages to fit a 4.3" screen into a body the length and breadth of an iphone 5.

Minuses: the screen is reportedly pretty poor. I say reportedly because im fairly awful at telling screen qualities and i can't notice any pixelation.

I'm reading a lot about the Galaxy Note 2 being an excellent device, streets ahead of the S3. I think it has more benefits if you might be using it as a business phone possibly however due to its specific features. I'm still in the 50/50 zone about a tablet so might kill 2 birds with one stone and get a Note 2 as the screen is excellent for movies and browsing allegedly.

    I've a Nokia Lumia 800 that I'm quite happy with :D

One thing I don't like about Nokia though is the limited selection on the marketplace

    up to €300.

the samsung galaxy s3 mini is €250 in vodafone. it's about €100 or more dearer everywhere else, it seems a good phone for that price. http://shop.vodafone.ie/shop/phones-and-plans/phones/pay-as-you-go/phone-details/samsung-galaxy-s3-mini-blue

I'm buying a new phone soon, I think i'll wait for the nokia lumia 620, it looks like a great phone for the price, hopefully it will be around the €200 mark, if it isn't released in the next few weeks i'll go with the samsung.
