What year does the problem happen on. My Dad has an 08 318d msport from new and I was wondering if it is bound to have this happen? Also how much would he get for trade in 65000 Kms upgraded bmw 18s that's it

2007 until 2011-ish. There's a lot of information on here if you search the forum with regards this particular issue, it comes up regularly.

It's the 143bhp (318d) and 177bhp (320d) versions from late 2007 that are affected. And trade in prices vary depending on what you are trading it in against, condition of the car and the spec. The important figure though is how much they want with the 318d for the newer car.
