The Western Hotel do a Thursday Night session. It's not a slow session but might be a good spot to get some contacts.

I see the NUIG trad society do a session in the Crane every week or two so, again, that might be another good starting point to get in touch with others looking for slow sessions. www.thecranebar.com.

Áras na Gael have some younger types in on a Saturday night for tunes. They are not slow session players either but might be worth chatting to.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
