    Hi Guys,

I am driving an 03 Nissan Micra - the engine light came on in 2011 and I brought it to a garage who said it was the cam shaft sensor and they changed that cost €200 and the light went off on the dash.

In Oct 2012 the light came back on and when I got it serviced they said the timing chain had stretched and I would need to replace this - how much should this cost approx?

The car is due for NCT in April should I just let the car go through the NCT or try get it fixed beforehand - I should mention I am hoping to change the car in July/August of this year.

    Thanks

It's the k12 model? Unfortunately it can be quite costly if it is the chain.
Take the time to shop around, ask other garages for a second opinion and what a chain replacement would cost.

Thanks replying I am not sure if it is a k12 model - its the newer shaped ones if that makes any difference.

    That is indeed the K12.
