Audio Quality - Touch vs Classic

Hi does anyone own/ed or tested the audio on these devices? I owned different Nanos in the past, I was very happy with the audio quality. I have the latest gen Classic and it's great for space, but I was never terribly happy about audio quality, it's OK, but not great. My phone (Android) sounds much, much clearer, louder and I hear sounds in music that my Classic just does not play - and I am testing using the same cans.

I'm interested in buying a Touch, I'd like the easier and more modern navigation but I hope the audio doesn't sound like the Classic? I keep seeing and hearing that the iPhone is amongst the best in portable audio in a certain price bracket, I suppose because the chip inside, screen etc. is the same in the Touch then audio would be the same as the iPhone?
