    Hey Guys,

A few club members have asked is it possible to race (A4 Level) with a one day licence this season in February & March.

My understanding was yes, you can get a one day licence for open races up until April, but a full race licence is needed from April onwards.

I would appreciate if anyone knows this for definite.

    Cheers

check this out with cycling ireland, i thought 1 day licence was gone this year, but you dont need a licence if racing in event organised by your own club

I believe Morana who answered above you is CI.

You still need a club racing license to race with your club, No?

I take it OP that you intend doing the West Coast Wheelers open race in Loughrea on the 24th Feb ;)

Btw updated regulations were approved at our board meeting of last week. The main additions are track rules and some other stuff passed at the agm.

Can't seem to find anything about a one day licence CI,

Does anyone know how to get one and how much do they cost?

    Thanks in advance.

One day licences are only available this year up to the last day of March. This is fact and was passed at the AGM of Cycling Ireland in November.Until then as usual you get the one day licences on the day of the event,at the event, from the commissaire. It costs E20 for the licence,of which e10 is returnable to you when you return the race number after the race. Also e10 to sign on for the race itself. So nett cost on the day is e10 for licence and e10 for sign on.Total e20.Hope this explains.

    Thanks Wav1

Just one more question, do you have to be a CI member to get a one day licence?

No.But you will have to have a full licence to compete in R/R events after Apr 1st,except in an event promoted by your own club when a club competition licence will suffice.

Just thought I might give some racing a try before investing in the full licence.

    Cheers for all the help.

    me too.

If I am lucky enough to finish in the points in a race on a one day licence will those points count towards my total if I subsequently take out a full racing licence in the same year?

Dont think so as you're not on the system
I like your optimism though.Positive mental attitude.

Its a bit more than optimism, he got more than half way out of A3 last year including a race win.

Why not go the whole hog Peter and finish the job ?
