    People,
I bought the hull section of the Mantua Titanic model off ebay. ( I thought I was getting the whole model !:o )
Its progressing ok but I'm wondering what to do about the superstructure, cabin details, funnels, fittings etc.
I really don't want to lash out over 500 euros on the remaining three kits ( I only want the static model -not RC )
Does anybody have any advice about where I might get a set of plans to allow me to finish the project myself. I have reasonable woodworking skills and tools.(Now that I see whats in the kits I think they are overpriced.) I suppose making everything to the scale of the Mantua model ( 1:200 ) is the main challenge. ?! All advice gratefully received.

    cheers.

    Thanks.
theres a lot of info there about installing motors etc. I might do a good trawl on the internet - there is no shortage of info to be had.

    cheers.

 Fellow modelmakers,it looks like I will have to buy the kits one by one. I had hoped to make them from scratch but have no hope of making brass fittings etc.
My natural instinct is to turn to the US where things are generally cheaper but can anyone recommend a mail order model shop that they have found good to deal with and reasonably priced. ?

    Cheers.

not sure what you're looking for but i've bought various tools/paints/materials etc from wonderlandmodels a few times in the past and been quite happy with them. you might have issues with liquids/compressed canisters or certain solvents getting shipped from the US these days.

    Thanks for that.
they have several Titanics but not the Mantua model. There seems to be very little difference worldwide in the price of kits. I've also bought a few books and will build my next model from scratch.Plywood is cheap but there is little choice when it comes to the rigging and fittings etc.
