Im not sure if i am in the right forum to ask for advice on this but a friend of mine works for a company three years .. recently boss says he is to cease employment and work odd day/week for the company as self employed... we think he is entitled to a redundancy payment for the three years thats 7 weeks (statutory- max 600 euro) but is that based on basic wage or actual /average weekly wage as he was in a commission based role and basic is very low!

Any replies/info/advice directed our wayis greatly appreciated

Yep - it would appear he is entitled to redundancy - my understanding is that it would be based on his income including commission. Hope this means he gets the max.
