Need advice please. 3 bed semi, 8 radiators, some rads have cools spots and slow to heat. I cannot afford a Full Power Flush but there is an offer online at the moment for a Full System Flush which flushes the mains through the system - is this worth trying, is it likely to improve my system. The guy says it will take 45 mins and I know some of you guys have posted your thoughts on these deals in relation to servicing but just want to hear your thought re the system flush. How does it compare with say a Full Power Flush (checmicals). thanks very much

Pointless , you might as well flush your water down the toilet , in 45 mins they are probably just draining the system then refilling it , and if they do (which I doubt ) add inhibitor after doing this can lead to its own issues on a still dirty system , either get a full power flush or don't

    They dont compare at all.
The power flush is a "power" flush of the system, it pumps high volumes of water through the system to loosen and carry out sludge and debris, mains water does not have anything near the volume or flow rate to make any considerable improvement to your system.

It would be the equivalent to trying to flush your toiler with a cup:p

You cab rent flushing machines from hss hire, I priced it before... 60e/day and the second day is half price. You could do it yourself for 100e or so I would guess?

Sulzz, TPM, Mloc - appreciate the advice here guys, this is really helpful. I guess I got drawn in by the deal but based on your advice I think I'll be cancelling plans for this. Anyone able to offer a good price on a Power Flush in North Dublin let me know (not sure if im aloud to ask that question here, apologies if its against boards rules)

In my opinion, it is better to not have something done than something done wrong.
