    Hi All,

I am using my Polar rs300x to record HR, Distance and time

My problem is the battery is low in the watch and has died in the chest strap also

Can anyone tell me the battery type for both of these?

    Cheers

    Go to polarelectro.co.uk

Register it for battery replacement and send it registered post

You'll have it back within a week and its guarantee will be intact

+ 1 on the above advice.

The battery for the wearlink should be stamped on the back of the transmitter, just unclip it from the strap. A tip to extend battery life - unclip one side of the transmitter when not in use.

If by chance you have a T31 (big plastic strap with elastic bit) these are non user replaceable and you simply replace the entire unit.

I had no idea you could even do this, and they replace the batteries for free??

You used to have to on the older Polars (and it wasn't free), but I think all the newer models have user replaceable batteries, at least my latest wearlink HR unit and rcx3 watch do.

Yeah see I have a screw off back on the HR strap and im sure the back can be taken off easily by screwing out the 4 screws

Sounds like it isn't user-replaceable by design. My old S710 had the four screws, and was supposed to be sent back for battery replacement: I replaced the battery a number of times myself (readily available CR2354 battery), but was very careful to ensure the seal was correctly positioned, and to tighten the screws just enough and evenly, as the waterproof-ness depends on this.
We recommend that you have the training computer
battery replaced by an authorized Polar Service Center.
They test your Polar training computer for water resistance
    after battery replacement.

I have heard horror stories about that water proofing actually, ok I will send it off today, it cost too much to have a DIY Nightmare thanks for your help!

it will cost you probably £7.50 per battery but at least youll know that its still waterproofed. Nothing worse that fresh batteries and water damage, whole new monitor then needed.

Also register it by post just so you know it for tracking.

Total impatience took over me last night as I was planning to go on a long cycle this morning so I replaced batteries in the G1 the HR strap and the watch... after the cycle the watch still looks alright but I paid special attention to the rubber waterproofing
