Vodafone HTC One X wifi problem

I am currently 5 months into a 24month contract with VODAFONE using a HTC One X. I contacted Vodafone and HTC about the shoddy home wifi signal a month into the contract and they said I'd have to return it to them so they could look at it. I absolutely need this for my work and can't afford a day without it, let alone a couple of weeks. The problem is beginning to interfere with my work now and I need it fixed! I've spoken again to both Vodafone and HTC and I'm getting the same spiel. All other phones in the house (including a HTC Desire HD) have perfect wifi signal but mine keeps dropping. If I push in below the camera lense I have full wifi but it drops to nothing when released. Has anyone else had this problem and what can I do to fix it? What are your experiences with returning a phone to HTC? How quick are they? Any help is appreciated as it's driving me MAD!!! Cheers

It would need to sent off for repair and there is absolutely nothing you can do about that.

Generally repairs can take anything up to 10 working days.

Have you tried a Factory Reset?

I thought as much  I've thought about the factory reset but from everything I've googled about the problem it seems that it is a hardware problem and not software. Even HTC have sent a press release stating that there was a problem with a batch of phones and the antennae connection. I guess I'm just going to have to bite the bullet, send it off and hope for the best :( Thanks

No harm in trying a factory reset anyway because they're going to do that regardless once they get the phone.

There is an app called Carbon that you can use to backup everything. Doesn't require root access. :-)
