Failed today I'm the nct, rack and pinion leaking both sides. Car has just over 100,000 miles on it. Been topping it up with fluid lately, but not much. What's the damage at an independent for repair?

If you use anything but the special honda power steering fluid, it will cause leaking of the seals on your honda power steering rack...You can buy this stuff from any honda dealer..

Ok, that might make sense, the pump was starting to make noise due to low fluid so it must be coming out somewhere? I topped it up eith generic fluid - Would it be worth have a go at draining and replacing with genuine fluid?

Anyone any further help on this-power steering topped up about 12 months ago but only 7k miles done in car since then, is it likely I've wrecked the seals with the generic fluid?
