Noise and now also smell issue

    Hi there,

When driving motorway last few days Ive noticed slight vibration in steering wheel accompanied by increasing interior noise...probably not the best description but it sounds like some stones are trapped in the tyre threads producing a "whuuur" sound at speed.

I checked the tyres for any unusual wearing but found nothing. Front tyres are 6 months old and the rear are due to be replaced soon.

When I got home this evening I noticed a burning rubber smell, so I put my nose to all wheel areas and found that its definitely coming from front drivers side.

Id like to have some idea as to what the problem is before going in cold to a garage to get it sorted.

    Anyone any experience with this?

Sticking caliper or wheel bearings. Jack up the offending wheel and give it a spin.
