I have an iPhone 3GS which was not receiving calls so I sent to apple to be repaired. Today apple told me it can't be repaired so there going to give me a replacement phone. I am now wondering will since the 3GS is now longer being made would I get an iPhone 4 instead? Thanks.

Doubt it. There is a possibility. But I'd be surprised if there wasn't still a few 3GS's knocking around their repair centre!

Would it be new or a refurb?

I agree with guil. I sent my iPhone 4 back for repair last October, and I thought it was a new phone due to the condition.
