€1,300ish to Spend

I'm looking at upgrading from my Specialized Allez Sport. I'll probably get 3-400 for my bike as part of a trade in, so I'll have around €1,300 maybe a little more to spend.

Where should I be spending my money?

I could probably get an entry level Carbon frame bike for near that money, but would I be better with an aluminium frame and higher specs on other componants?

    Any suggestions greatfully received :)

Sell the Allez yourself, you'll get a better price for it than trade in and if it's in good nick and not too old it should shift quickly as Specialized are a well know name with a good reputation.

Planet X Ireland do the SL Pro Carbon with Apex for €1150 or Rival for €1300, both very good spec for the price.

Ribble have the Rvo Pro Carbon with 105 for €1242 (with Look Keo Classic Pedals) or the R872 (gorgeous frame) with 105 for €1434 (with keo classic pedals) in their special edition section.
They used to have Sram options too (apex = cheaper than 105 and I prefer it) but don't have it anymore.

    They're a few options anyway.

I'm a big fan of Canyon. For close to your budget, the aluminium bikes are supposed to be great bikes.

And a bit more over your budget is the carbon version:

I'll say it again and again. That Ribble R872 is a beautiful bargain.
