BHAA race cancellation 02 February 2013

The BHAA does not normally start a new thread for each race. I am starting this one just in case intending runners might miss the notification on the main BHAA thread.

Unfortunately, the BHAA has had to cancel the North County Farmers cross-country race that was scheduled to take place at Balheary Park, Swords on Saturday 02 February 2013.

The heavy rain over recent days has thoroughly soaked the ground in the park and the local authority, Fingal County Council, informed the race organisers today that the park (and all other Fingal parks apparently) would be closed for this weekend.

It is unlikely that this particular race can be rescheduled to next weekend because the Council were not optimistic that the ground would have improved sufficiently by then and because more rain is expected in the intervening period too. :(

Not a bad idea with no race pain or post-run muck to contend with, the main roundabout into Swords would make a fine venue for this.:)
