So had an interview with a big company in dublin about a sales rep position , hour and a half i was there . Anyway out of alot of applicants i was offered the job

Prob is its all commision based , selling windows and doors and roofing to private homes , i go to a shopping centre to set up a stall and try get customers , then the company sends me leads to peoples homes to try sell etc , so basically if i dont sell i get fook all , use my car and phone and i cant sell for 2 months as id be doing training , they'll pay me €100 a week to cover petrol

Do these companys think we are mugs , sure they lose nothing , just gain

So rang them today and said thanks but no thanks

Pissed off because its not a wage+commision basis

Why go through the interview process if you weren't happy with what you'd be offered?? You did check the t&c for the job first didn't you?

I'm seeing this a lot myself. I even went for a work from home logistics job. Basically you coordinate delivery drivers and contact customers to arrange delivery. It was commission only! If they had a quiet day you weren't getting paid.

What a silly simplistic view of a job specification. Anyone that takes a job advert at face value is very naive.

Well done O.P. and keep looking !
