Second Interview

    Hi
I applied for a job during the second week in January. I got called for an interview on the 17 Jan & then for a second interview on Friday 25th Jan. I was told they would contact me early this week but still I have heard nothing. Would this be the norm for them not to bother contacting me if I was not sucessful. I think at this stage it is not good news. I really wanted this job :( I was thinking of emailing them but is there any point?

    Thoughts appreciated ?

Did you apply directly to the company or was it through a recruitment agency?

If it was through an agency then contact them for an update though it you applied directly to the company then I would wait till early next week before contacting them for an update. Depending on size of the company, how many they interviewed etc they may still deciding.

i would ring in straight to the company and ask about the situation dont talk only with the guy who interviewed you... shows your interest about the job

It varies from company to company but normally I'd expect some form of contact either way if you made it to the seond round. There's often delays in recruitment decisions. All it takes is one manager on leave or out sick and the whole thing could be held up for a couple of weeks. As balkieb2002 says, if it's a recruiter ring them and if it's direct wait until early next week and make a polite call to the company.

leeroybrown u are right ...but maybe will be to late maybe others will ring and persuade the interviewer that they are the perfect candidate for the job ...u have nothing to lose by politely ring in ask your man to the phone and have a chat he might ask you to ring back early next week again

I'd say they are just busy and you should get a reply either way early next week.

    That would be it.
Opened up my desktop calendar and seen 25th was a monday, assumed it was still january - working nights will do that to you.

    Apologies, op.
