Recently got put on a 3 day week so I'm looking to apply for JSB. Only working since October so I'm not even sure if I've built up that much in terms of credits. I was on JSB previously but at a different address. The only thing I have at my new address is a bill in my name, is this sufficient to say that I'm living in this house? Or will they ask for more?

You should be ok.You need a minimum of 13 weeks stamps after signing off and you can get JSB again.

    Re-qualifying for Jobseeker's Benefit

If you have used up your entitlement to Jobseeker's Benefit (JB), you may re-qualify by working and paying the appropriate PRSI contributions for at least 13 weeks. If you are working and getting JB, as in the case of systematic short-time workers and some part-time workers, the 13 weeks paid contributions can begin once you have claimed JB for 156 days.

Thanks mp22. How do the stamps work? I've worked part-time 14 weeks at this stage, enough to qualify for some sort of benefit?

Is a utility bill sufficient for claiming? Don't have anything else on me.

check list of what you need to bring:

If you were earning over €38 pw then you should have got a stamp each week and if it was at Class A then this would help towards requalifying for JSB, you need to check at your sw office to see if you qualify.

    Thanks danjo.
If your days of work are reduced you must bring a letter from you employer stating the following:

Your days at work have been reduced on a temporary basis
The number of days you worked each week
The number of days you now work each week
    The reduction in your pay.

That's no problem at all, can get that letter stating all of the above.
You may be asked to show evidence of your address. You should bring any of the following documents:

Recent bills from utility companies such as electricity, telephone (landline or mobile), gas, cable television, waste charges etc.

A television bill is all I have, will this be enough do you think?

Can I apply online if I've been on JB before or do I need to call in?

I was earning over €38 per week, yes.

What I would do is ask your employer for a statement of any PRSI contributions made on your behalf to date.

Or better still, if you got a P60 from your employer then that will show any prsi contributions they have made for you. (assuming they did)

P60 will cover up to 31st December 2012. I got mine 2 weeks ago.

Armed with this information I would call into the dole office and ask them can they check if you re-qualify for JSB.

If yes then I would make a claim if that is what you want to do.

TV Bill, if its addressed to you and shows your address and is a recent bill then it's better than nothing, so yes bring it along.
