Best way to lay out catalogue

Hi, I'm currently getting a catalogue ready for my business , what is the best way of laying it out. I'm putting in excel at the moment, I want to put images in. I have the images but I do t know how to put then into a cell so that they are a uniform size? Any tips? Thanks

You need desktop publishing (DTP) software. Scribus is a pretty good open source DTP.
