Fella was out fixing the gas boiler and he seems to have turned off the valve in the hotpress so when I went to have my morning shower no hot water ,so my Achilles heel in construction has showed it's ugly face.......there's 2 of them red valves one at the bottom of the cylinder and then 6 inches to the right and up 10 inches is the other one, which one will get the hot water from the rads heating my water .......any help appreciated

Its possible the guy turned off both really, he may have turned off the water supply to the tank and what the OP sounds like they are describing the balancing valve?
The water supply to the tank should be fully open, not sure how to determine how much the balancing valve should be open, but after having someone (idiots) in my house that turned off the balancing valve among other things, I estimated what was the best amount open according to how much the tank heated up before.
Someone else may be able to tell you how to set it up better.

    just to clarify
    are you getting no water
    or
    water that isn't heated
