There are two copper prongs from the thermostat which connect into the boiler and check the heat of the stack. I have the boiler up and running connected a new thermostat but its not knocking in and out... even when i turn it up and down... the copper prongs are a very tight squeeze to get them into where the old ones where which makes me question was it the correct thermostat used?

Your discription of the problem isn't great, What boiler are we talking about ? what thermostat have you now fitted ?? why ?? do you have a picture ?? "knocking in and out"??? on the hi limit stat or cycling ??
