Bit of a basic question I'm afraid.

I use a bog standard O2 E270 usb dongle for broadband.

If I get a secondhand O2 wi-fi type dongle will it work by simply putting my sim into it like a regular phone or is there anything else I'd need? Also I assume these mobile wi-fi dongles can be used like any other wi-fi router?
